Introduction

In September, we’ll be heading out onto the water on Monday afternoons at 4:00 PM in our dinghies. If you want to try your hand at our smallest boats—where every movement counts—now is the time.

Whether it’s your first time sailing or you’ve been sailing for years, everyone is welcome.

Here are a few important things to bring (if you have them):

• Swim shorts

• Towel and shower essentials

• Dry undergarments

Additionally the following things might be handy to bring if you have them:

• Wetsuit

• Surf boots / water shoes

• Sailing gloves

During the so-called introductory drinks, you will get to know our members, our association, and your fellow newcomers! You can find us at the Sevende Camer at the University Watersport Complex (Auke Vleerstraat 99). Here we will enjoy beers, Radler 0.0, and a delicious meal! Our members can tell you everything about sailing, the committees, and all the fun events coming up at Euros Zeilen!

Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM (but feel free to come a little earlier), and please bring €3.50 in cash for this! If you sign up, we assume you will be eating with us.

The I.C.E (Introduction Committee of Euros Sailing) is once again organizing two spectacular introduction weekends especially for new members. Whether you already have sailing experience or not, these weekends are the perfect opportunity to get to know our sailing activities and meet our members.

The first of the two weekends will take place from September 4 to 6 on the Frisian Lakes. During this event, we will showcase the wide variety of sailing offered at Euros. We’ll be bringing a nearly 20-meter flat-bottomed boat (similar to the old Ebenhaezer), our own boats (Off-Duty and the Witte Draeck), and a few additional sailboats.

So whether you're an experienced sailor or trying it for the first time, this weekend offers the chance to try out all these boats! There’s something to learn for every level—or simply a great weekend to enjoy. It promises to be a fun weekend with sailing during the day and social drinks in the evening.

Practical information:

We’ll depart from Enschedeon Friday evening around 7 PM by public transport to Langweer, where the weekend will begin. The event will end on Sunday afternoon or evening. The participation fee is €75, which covers everything for the weekend except alcohol, soft drinks, and transport to Langweer.

The second weekend will take place from September 18–20 on the IJsselmeer. During this event, we’ll be taking on the IJsselmeer with our 30-foot one-off racing yacht (Jaffa), our 20-foot cabin sailboats (Off Duty and De Witte Draeck), and many other sailing yachts. So whether you’re an experienced sailor or trying it for the first time, this weekend offers the chance to try out all kinds of boats! There’s something to learn for every level—or just an amazing weekend to enjoy.

It promises to be a great weekend with sailing during the day and social drinks in the evening!

The participation fee is €75, which covers everything for the weekend except alcohol, soft drinks, and transport to Friesland.
